When Azra Grudic, Envisionit’s digital media lead, approached Envisionit with the chance to help some kids for the holidays, we were all in.
Lawrence Hall is a local nonprofit and one of the oldest foster care agencies in Chicago that provides residence and support to children who have been displaced from their families. Oftentimes, these children have suffered from trauma in their lives, so the shelter offers therapeutic treatment, guidance and life-building skills that they may not receive otherwise.
Every year, Lawrence Hall joins forces with local churches and businesses to provide each child in their care with a holiday gift. This year, unfortunately, some of the major donors to the organization were unable to take part in the Holiday Wish List gift drive.
That’s when Envisionit stepped in. Each department “adopted” a few children and bought their gifts. The presents were then delivered to Lawrence Hall in time for the holidays. Not only did we bring joy to the kids, but we had a blast doing it.
“I’m really glad that Azra organized this gift drive so our agency could help these awesome young people in need,” Laura Grace, our agency SEO lead, said.
Altogether, Envisionit supported 28 children this winter, and we hope to continue this tradition in the future. Check out our holiday haul below:
