On Friday, Google announced it would formally begin rolling out a change to desktop search results that it has been testing since 2010: one that will remove paid search ads from the right side of the page, instead showing them only on the top and bottom of organic listings. This will align Google’s desktop results page with their mobile results, which also only show ads above and below organic results.

Wondering about how this might affect your paid search campaigns? envisionit’s paid search lead, Joe Mathieu, gives some initial thoughts on the subject.
