It’s that time of year again. The sun is in the sky. Tourists are at the Bean. And last Friday, Envisionit just had its annual outing to Ravinia. This time it was Chic, and Duran Duran.

In keeping with tradition, a few dozen envisionaries set up camp with tarps, coolers and a black and white umbrella you could spot from across the lawn. Arriving from the train in groups, the picnickers settled in for an evening of food, drink, and hits like “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “Ordinary World.” 11,000 packed the lawn (one couple even had their Rio-themed wedding ceremony before the show), and the entire group lived it up as the sun went down.

The trips up to Ravinia and back on the Metra were no less festive than the concert itself, but everyone made it home safely. No comment on how we felt Saturday morning.
